This policy explains what information SkillHints (skillhints.com) handles when you visit, and what it does not. We have tried to describe only what the site actually does.
Who we are
SkillHints is a course-discovery website. You can contact us at ehtyalee1919@gmail.com.
Course Finder and skill match answers
Your answers to the Course Finder and the skill match are processed by JavaScript in your own browser. They are not sent to our server and we cannot see them. To let you go back and change answers, they are kept in your browser’s session storage for the current tab only. Closing the tab clears them. If your browser blocks storage, the tools still work but forget your answers when you reload.
Accounts and forms
You do not need an account to use SkillHints, and the site has no sign-up or contact form. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and we use it only to reply and to correct course information. We do not sell or share it.
Cookies
SkillHints does not set advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress, the software that runs the site, sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. If comments are ever enabled on a page and you leave one, WordPress may offer to store your name and email in a cookie for convenience; this is optional.
Analytics and tracking
At the time of writing, SkillHints does not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts are served from our own server, not from Google Fonts. If this changes, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.
Server logs and hosting
Like almost every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when pages are requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running, and are kept according to the hosting provider’s own retention practices.
Links to course providers
SkillHints links to courses on other websites, including Harvard (edX), freeCodeCamp, The Odin Project, Kaggle, Google, Coursera, Microsoft Learn, Cisco Networking Academy, HubSpot Academy, Y Combinator and others. When you follow a link, you leave SkillHints and that provider’s privacy policy applies. We do not receive any information about what you do there, and we do not use affiliate tracking links.
Your choices and rights
Because we do not collect Course Finder answers or run analytics, there is usually no personal data about you for us to access or delete. If you have emailed us and want that correspondence deleted, or have any other privacy question, email ehtyalee1919@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law.
Children
SkillHints is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does with information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
