In short: We don’t ask you to sign up. Your Course Finder answers stay in your browser. We don’t use ads or tracking tools. Your web host keeps basic visit logs for security.
This page explains what information SkillHints (skillhints.com) handles when you visit, and what it doesn’t. We describe only what the site really does.
Who we are
SkillHints is a website that helps people find online courses. You can contact us at ehtyalee1919@gmail.com.
Your Course Finder answers
Your answers to the Course Finder and the skill match are worked out by code in your own browser. They are not sent to us, and we can’t see them.
So you can go back and change answers, your browser keeps them in session storage. Session storage is a small memory space in your browser that is cleared when you close the tab. If your browser blocks it, the tools still work, but they forget your answers when you reload the page.
Accounts and forms
You don’t need an account to use SkillHints. The site has no sign-up form and no contact form.
If you email us, we get your email address and your message. We use them only to reply to you and to fix course information. We don’t sell or share them.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website saves in your browser. SkillHints does not use cookies for ads or tracking. WordPress, the software that runs the site, sets cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. Comments are turned off, so no comment cookies are set.
Analytics and tracking
Right now, SkillHints does not use Google Analytics or any other tracking, ad or analytics tools. Our fonts load from our own server, not from Google Fonts. If this ever changes, we will update this page first.
Server logs and hosting
Like almost every website, our web host automatically records basic details when someone visits a page. These include your IP address (your device’s internet address), your browser type, the page you asked for, and the time. These logs help keep the site safe and working. Our hosting company decides how long to keep them.
Links to course websites
SkillHints links to courses on other websites, such as Harvard (edX), freeCodeCamp, The Odin Project, Kaggle, Google, Coursera, Microsoft Learn, Cisco Networking Academy, HubSpot Academy and Y Combinator. When you click a link, you leave SkillHints. That website’s own privacy policy then applies. We don’t get any information about what you do there. We don’t use affiliate tracking links.
Your choices and rights
We don’t collect your Course Finder answers or run analytics. So we usually don’t have any personal information about you to show or delete.
If you emailed us and want those emails deleted, or you have another privacy question, email ehtyalee1919@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, local privacy laws may give you more rights.
Children
SkillHints is made for a general audience. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If the way the site handles information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. You can also read our Disclaimer and how we work.
